Award-winning actress Chin-chin Gutierrez loses her home to a fire for the second time. This is the same house in Loyola Heights, Quezon City that burned down in December 2006 claiming the life of her mother Cecelia.
Singer/ Songwriter Jim Paredes is one of the neighbors to first witness the fire. Jim recalls, “Pagsilip namin sa labas malaki na, umaapoy na. So tumakbo ako diyan sa labas, sumigaw ako sa side: Chin-chin nasusunog ang bahay mo!”
But Chin-chin attended an ecological workshop and has been out–of-town since August 27. The only person in the house at the time of the unfortunate incident was her house help who managed to get out of the house before the fire grew.
In a press statement that she sent to SNN, Chin-chin says, “Right now, my focus is on taking care of the immediate concerns and obligations that this unfortunate incident has brought.”
Yet amidst this tragedy, Chin-chin knows that it’s best to stay strong. “I know everything has a purpose.”
