Ryan Agoncillo says he and Judy Ann Santos are getting ready for parenthood

At the press conference of his new endorsement Enervon Multivitamins, Ryan Agoncillo shared that he and wife Judy Ann Santos are gearing up for the forthcoming birth of their firstborn child. Aside from attending birthing classes, Ryan said that his wife is also doing the necessary practices to make the delivery of their baby easier. “She’s doing very well, makati pa rin ang paa pero liyad na naglalakad. Siya pa rin ‘yung labas nang labas, kain nang kain and every time she’s at home ng mga bandang hapon nagwo-walking around the village siya,” Ryan related. He added that Judai also feels the weight of her tummy, but it hasn’t stopped her from keeping an active lifestyle.

His concern right now is the fact that as of last month, the baby was in the reverse position, with his feet coming out first. “Pero recently nag-ultrasound, parang umikot na siya,” he revealed. Ryan also draws comfort from the fact that his brother was also born suhi and grew up healthy.

In addition to the birthing classes, Ryan said that Judai is also slated to take breast-feeding classes. “Hindi ko alam kung gagawin namin [ang Lamaze]. Parang hindi ko nakita sa schedule ko nung tiningnan ko kagabi.Eh baka maisip ni Judai na mag-Lamaze classes kami (at) pag ganon, go lang ako and si Judai nagyo-yoga yoga and prenatal massage.”

Ryan added that he also believes that he is ready to see the actual birthing of his wife. “Kung hindi ako himatayin,” he joked. “Kinaya naman, na-testing ko na [kasi] nanood ako ng nag-CS (caesarian) na panganganak, hindi naman ako hinimatay.” However, he said that he still feels anxious.

The actor-host also confirmed that their initial plan is that the actress will take care of their baby—who will be named Juan Luis—for the first few months after giving birth. “’Yun ang balak niya (Judai), pero sinabi ko naman sa kanya, ‘Sweetheart, basta kung ano ang gusto niya gawin natin pero kung nahirapan, we can always ask for help,’” said Ryan. He is not worried should Judai decide to go back to work because their baby's grandmothers can always look after him. “Tsaka andun ‘yung dalawang lola. Mommy Carol visits us every weekend and my mom, since malapit sa amin nakatira, almost every other day dumadalaw at nagdadala ng pagkain.”
