As the premiere of Sarah Geronimo’s new show Idol comes closer, people are becoming more curious about what makes one an inspiration to the masses. Sarah is always open about her admiration for Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. However she could not help but react over people who keep on comparing her and her idol. “ ‘Yun nga e, talagang dapat tigilan na natin yung pagco-compare. Ms. Regine Velasquez yun, para mai-compare ako…ano ba naman yun…ano ba yung maiko-kompara sa amin napakalayo ni Ms. Reg sa akin, naguumpisa pa lang ako." She also explains Idol's difference from Regine’s own TV series in another network. "Ito pong Idol ibang-iba sa show ni Ms. Reg, pareho lang talaga na may pagka-musical pero ibang iba ng konsepto at storya. Okay lang, nasa society na yata natin na laging may comparison sa lahat ng mga artists, so bahala na sila."
Also because of Idol, the press bombarded Sarah with questions about her leading man, Sam Milby, if there will be any chances that their friendship will develop into something romantic. The Pop Princess admitted her co-star is very cute but definitely "out of her league". "Kamukha ko ba si Anne Curtis? Ano ba kayo? Huwag naman. Hinahangaan ko si Sam. Pero halos lahat naman ng aktor or aktres na nakakatrabaho ko nandun yung paghanga ko, e." When pressed whether there can be even the slimmest possibility of love blossoming, Sarah only answered, "Gagawin nating impossible. Huwag muna yung ganyan, magtatrabaho kami. Trabaho!"
