Diether Ocampo on break-up with Rima Ostwani: 'Nakapag-usap kami nang maayos.'

Diether Ocampo admitted at the press conference of the forthcoming movie Sa ‘Yo Lamang that he and former girlfriend Rima Ostwani talked before the latter appeared on The Buzz two Sundays ago, where she revealed that she and Diet have called it quits. “Nakapag-usap naman kami nang maayos,” Diether began. “Bago pa ‘yung lumabas na interview nakapag-usap kami nang maayos kaya maliwanag sa aming pareho ‘yon. Nagkakaintindihan kami. Maayos naman.” The actor also added that he and Rima have remained friends.

Diet denied that a third party is the cause of their break up and reasoned out that he is a one-woman man, when in love. “Parang hilong talilong ‘pag in love (ako),” he described himself. When asked about the real reason of the break up, Diether explained, “Kumbaga lahat tayo may mgabagong challenge na hinaharap at siyempre may mga bagay na hindi madali, di ba?” He also cited the importance of communication between the two parties. “Kasi kapag napag-uusapan and communication is very open maganda na nagkakaintindihan kayo kasi masakit kung hindi. Mas maganda kung mapag-usapan nang maayos para at least pareho kayong makapag-move forward. Mabigat ‘yung emotions, eh”

Diether also said that he is not closing his doors on the possibility of a reconciliation with Rima, especially if it is meant to happen. “Hindi ko pinapangunahan ang mga pwedeng mangyari. Palagi akong nagdadasal na kung ano ‘yung ipapahintulot ng Diyos, naka-ready naman ako dun,” he reasoned and added that he will now focus on work, especially that it took him five years before he could star again in a movie. Diether is now coming up with two films, Sa ‘Yo Lamang, opening in theaters on September 1 and Mamarazzi top-billed by Eugene Domingo and Andi Eigenmann. “Utang ko rin sa (manonood) na meron naman akong mai-contribute sa industriya na magagandang proyekto, na mapapasaya natin ang mga tao.”

He said that he is not yet ready to jump into another relationship and that he has to fulfill a lot of responsibilities. Besides, Diet firmly believes that love will happen at the right time. “Kung talagang para sa ‘yo, hindi mo na kailangang hanapin, darating talaga, eh,” he said.
